1. Become a search expert, regardless of your industry sector
  2. Encourage clients to welcome reverse marketing and not just wait until someone resigns to start recruiting
  3. Be firm with your fees. The laws of economics dictate when demand is high and supply low, prices rise
  4. Don't rely on advertising response to deliver quality candidates
  5. Eliminate undesirable clients from your portfolio by referring them to another supplier. Don't waste your time working on positions you cant fill or get paid appropriate fees for
  6. Be vigilant in qualifying and re-qualifying candidates on remuneration expectations, availability and competing offers throughout the process
  7. Ask everyone you deal with for referrals including clients, candidates, suppliers, even family and friends!
  8. Look after candidates. If you don't, they will not refer friends or associates
  9. Contact candidates regularly throughout the process
  10. Regularly attend networking events and industry functions.
